Verity Bank Coming Soon To City of Winder/Barrow County
Steven F. Smith, resident of Winder and President and CEO of Verity Bank (in organization), announced today the upcoming opening of Verity Bank as the newest community bank for the City of Winder and Barrow County. Verity Bank, a full service locally owned bank, has received regulatory approval from the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance and the FDIC, and intends to open for business in October of 2008.
“The directors, management and staff that have been assembled to serve under the name of Verity Bank are well known and respected in the communities we will serve. Smith, former Executive Vice President and Retail Banking Manager of Mountain State Bank and former City Executive of BB&T in Winder; Bronson Lavender, a native of Arcade and former Executive Vice President and County President of Mountain State Bank in Dahlonega; Wayne L. Bartlett, resident of Winder and co-owner and managing broker of Maynard & Bartlett Realty Group LLP in Winder; Donald J. Boggus, President & CEO of Crescent Bank in Jasper, William G. Brantley, resident of Winder and owner of Southfork Homes, Inc. in Atlanta; John F. Conway, owner of Atlanta Gearworks, Inc. in Dawsonville; and Ryker Lowe, President of Jasper Jeep Dodge Chrysler in Jasper, Dr. J.J. Shah, Orthopedic Surgeon, President of Gwinnett Clinic with 16 location; Dr. Kirti Shah, President and Medical Director of KHC-PC and the Nephron Corporation. Also part of the organizing group is Brian Hawkins, CFO and Executive Vice President, formerly CFO of Georgia Central Bank in Social Circle.
Most recent additions to the Verity Bank staff include Christopher M. Hall of Winder, Sr. Vice President and Commercial Lender; Jennie Parr of Winder, Sr. Vice President & Construction Lender; Martha Jane Wall of Winder, Client Service Specialist; and Christine Fisher of Winder, Head Teller. More announcements will be forthcoming regarding new Verity Bank staff.
The Winder location of Verity Bank is located at 94 West Athens Street in Winder. “The decision to open a full service permanent facility from the outset was another way of showing our commitment to the community of Winder. It was important for us to create a bank facility that complimented the downtown area, something that the Winder community would be proud of,” said Steven Smith. A second bank location is scheduled to be open in Forsyth County in close proximity to GA 400 in the near future.

Verity Bank Announces Christopher M. Hall to be named Sr. Vice President & Commercial Lender
Steven F. Smith, President and CEO of Verity Bank (in organization), announced today that Chris Hall has been named Sr. Vice President and Commercial Lender for Verity Bank in Winder, Georgia. “Mr. Hall will have company responsibilities as Senior Vice President and will handle various commercial loan requests for Barrow County and neighboring markets. Mr. Hall is a very skillful banker and will be a great fit for our bank. He believes in the same service philosophy that is so important to our organization. Given his commercial banking experience and strong community ties, we are confident that he will be instrumental in our success as a bank. We couldn’t be more excited about Mr. Hall joining Verity Bank,” said Steven Smith.
Chris Hall, son of Mark and Kathy Hall, and a native of Barrow County, graduated from Winder Barrow High School in 1995. In 1999 he received his Finance degree from the University of Georgia and he received his M.B.A. from Georgia State in 2001. Prior to joining Verity Bank, Mr. Hall served as Sr. Vice President of Corporate Lending at BB&T.

Chris Hall and his wife, Ashley, have two children, Caiden Mark Hall, (2) and their newly born daughter, Avery Elizabeth Hall. The family are members of the Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula, Georgia where Hall serves on the Finance Committee.
